Paraguay river & Taiamã Reserve jaguar programs

The perfect way to trace jaguars on the Paraguay river and Taiama Reserve is through the Baiazinha Lodge. Since the Taiama Reserve is a federally protected zone, it is not open to the public and no tour operator is allowed to take tourists to the reserve

Sample program

  • Day 1: Cuiaba - Hotel Baiazinha (Wednesday)

    In the morning, you will leave from Cuiabá to Cáceres (205 km/ 2.5 hrs). We make a left turn before entering the city and drive towards Paraguay river (2.5 hrs). After arriving at the Baiazinha Lodge, your lunch will be served and later on you will take a tour into the surroundings of the Paraguay river and hope to get the first sight of the jaguar. Dinner and overnight. (L, D)

  • Day 2 & 3: Hotel Baiazinha (Thursday & Friday)

    Go on a full day boat tour on the Paraguay river and the nearby areas of the Taiama Ecological Reserve and its passages in search for the jaguars and spot other wildlife. This is a great area to spot jaguars; even though they are a little timid, you can be lucky and get the chance to see one of these elusive felines. These region is also well known for its variety of wildlife. Overnight. (B, L, D)

  • Day 4: Hotel Baiazinha - Cuiaba (Saturday)

    After you eat breakfast, you will be transferred back to Cuiabá. (B)
